Tarawih & Moreh with LUMSoc Parents: A Ramadhan Night to Cherish
On the night of 12th March 2025, in the holy month of Ramadhan, LUMSoc Parents brought our community together for a beautiful evening of Tarawih prayers — a night filled with faith, unity, and spiritual connection.
It was heartwarming to see so many familiar faces gathered in one place, all gathered together to embrace the spirit of Ramadhan as one big family. From heartfelt du’as to rows of prayer mats side by side, the night truly reminded us of the beauty of being part of a community far from home.
Traditionally a small treat after Tarawih, everyone received a lovingly packed treat to take home and enjoy, thoughtfully prepared by our dedicated LUMSoc Parents. Each mini container was filled with homemade Malaysian goodness — from the sweet and chewy burst of Onde-Onde, to the rich and soft Kuih Bakar, and of course, the crowd-favourite, the iconic Kek Batik.
To our beloved LUMSoc Parents, thank you for the love and effort you poured into this night. And to all our attendees, thank you for being a part of this memorable evening. May we continue to grow together in faith and fellowship.
Here’s to more beautiful nights like these, and to the spirit of Ramadhan that continues to bring us closer.
Bazaar Ramadhan 2025 : A Feast to Remember !
On the evening of 15th March 2025, the St George’s Conference Centre came alive with the sights, sounds, and scents of home — all thanks to LUMSoc’s Bazaar Ramadhan 2025! From mouthwatering dishes to laughter-filled conversations, it was truly a night that fed both the tummy and the soul.
A huge appreciation to our amazing food vendors from Malaysian Students & Community of Leeds (MSCL) and our members who turned the hall into a foodie wonderland!
Here’s the all-star lineup:

🍩 Cheche’s Munchies
🍗 Uncle Lim’s Buttermilk Chicken
🍛 Little Malaya
🌶 Kaki Review
🥘 Teluk Kayu
🍰 Buka Bites
🎊 Riang Ria Ramadhan
From Malaysian favourites dishes and kuih muih, to Korean-inspired bites, dreamy desserts, and refreshing drinks — everything was there in the spread to satisfy your cravings.
The best part of this event was that not only Malaysians showed up — but students from other regions also dropped by, drawn by the festive vibes and the promise of good food. With friends and families in tow, they explored the stalls, shared plates, and broke their fast together, filling the air with laughter and chatter.
A heartfelt thank you to MSCL for teaming up with us and making this event such a big hit. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Will we do this again next Ramadhan? InsyaAllah — and we’ll bring even more flavours to the table.
ISOC x LUMSOC Iftar : A Heartwarming Collaboration
To mark the final chapter of our Ramadhan series, LUMSoc had the pleasure of collaborating with the Leeds University Union Islamic Society (ISoc) once again for a memorable iftar night on 21st March 2025. The Green Room was quickly filled with members from various societies and nationalities — all coming together to break fast, share stories, and embrace the spirit of Ramadhan.
Guests were served a true taste of Malaysia: fragrant white rice paired with the ever-iconic Ayam Masak Merah — rich, spicy, and made with love. And of course, we never forget everyone’s favourite dessert: Kek Batik. The dishes were lovingly prepared by our hardworking committee members, who poured in their time and effort to bring comforting home-style flavours to the table.
Our heartfelt gratitude to ISoc for inviting us in your Iftar series and for creating a space where diversity and Deen meet so meaningfully. We truly cherish this partnership and look forward to working closely together again in the future.
