WELCOME TO LEEDS!
LUMSOC's 2022 FRESHERS' DAY

On the 15th of October LUMSoc had their first event for the 2022/2023 Academic year!

What better way to welcome everyone to Leeds with some great food and mingling with fellow Malaysians? Menu for the day? Roasted chicken with some rice and fried Bihun 🤤

From their faces it seemed like everyone enjoyed the lunch :3 Special thanks to the Parents in our Family System that spent hours preparing food for everyone 💚 You just know it's good when it's cooked with loads of love 🥰
Whilst some continue to chow down, the President of LUMSoc, Grace Dagang, delivered a short presentation to everyone. The presentation answered 5 main questions:
Who is LUMSOC?
Why does LUMSOC exist?
What does LUMSOC offer?
How can members be more involved?
When are our next events?

Nasi Lemak for Breakfast? Yes or No to Durian? Can you speak more than 3 languages? Do you like your course?
These were just some of the many questions that we asked to get to know one another. Each side had very interesting arguments for their cases. Apparently some like frozen durian better, and some believe that Nasi Lemak isn't just for breakfast, it's for any time in a day XD Definitely had some heated arguments but no feelings were harmed in the process, we don't judge in this space 🥰
Freshers' Day wouldn't have been complete without a Campus Tour 🏛 Freshers were sent on a Treasure Hunt around campus, to landmarks that every student in the University of Leeds must know. Some of these places were The Edge, the 3 libraries - Laidlaw, Edward Boyle and Brotherton - and Roger Stevens. Parents were there to ensure that they don't get lost whilst also acting as tour guides that would share useful fun facts about the locations, for example, places for Muslims to pray and the lecture theatres that students that to miss.

The tour ended on the steps of Parkinson Building where the committee gave out packed up lunches for those that didn't get served during the event. Everyone went home with full tummies and hearts 🥰
