Summer Charity Programme

This is one of LUMSOC's annual event during summer break. This year, we have paid a visit to SMK Dato Ahmad Maher, Kelantan to help educate the form 5 students in choosing their paths after SPM.

Freshers' Day

A one-day event to welcome the new students. Many exciting activities have been planned to help them get to know other Maleedsians and introducing them to our beloved Leeds. Freshers' are also will be given the opportunity to tour Leeds city centre.

Leeds Malaysian Games (LMG)

Leeds Malaysian Games 2017 is a joint effort between MASSoc, LUMSOC and BPLN Leeds. LMG 2017 provides platform wherein Malaysian students from across the United Kingdom and Ireland can come together and sow the seeds of sportsmanship. This annual sporting competition has steadily garnered interest amongst Malaysian students and managed to attract some 500 participants last year.

Ladies Night

Princess Night aims to strengthen the bonds among the ladies in Leeds. Besides having some time and space to have a break in the middle of their busy life as a student, they also will be given a chance to discuss any uncertainties that they have and play exciting games together.

Shadow Committee Recruitment

After hearing some positive feedbacks from the previous shadow committees, LUMSOC will be continuing the shadow committee recruitment program for the second year. Although the main targets will be the incoming freshers, however, non-freshers are also welcome to apply. The recruitment will be done through interview sessions done by the current committees.

Give-it-a-Go (GIAG) Autumn

A programme organised by the Leeds University Union in which the clubs and societies registered can introduce and promote themselves and their activities to all students of the university. This is an opportunity given by the university to promote our society which basically promotes Malaysia’s culture at Leeds University. This term, the theme that we chose is ‘The Difference of Malaysia’, with the aim to let people discover the uniqueness of Malaysia.

Laser Tag Competition
A day of laser tag games to be held with the purpose of strengthening the bond between Malaysians in Leeds. It will be held at Laserzone Leeds from noon until 4 pm with the target of 40 students. This game challenges your creativity as you might have to come up with strategies in order to win the game.

With examinations around the corner, LUMSOC collaborated with KULB for a spiritual gathering. Students ranging from first years to final years are welcome to have a break from studying and get closer to the Almighty.
The gathering is layback and relaxing.

Traditional Malaysian Clothes Photo Competition

A competition to encourage fellow MaLeedsians to promote and enliven Malaysian culture in Leeds. Prizes will be given to the winner for two different categories: Best photo and Best Caption. All photos are to be submitted through Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #LeedsXMalaysia

In accordance with the society's constitution, LUMSOC holds its Annual General Meeting to elect the new committee for the upcoming term. The new committees will manage the society and serve the members from this date onwards. AGM is also a platform for the members to bring up any issues or concerns related to the running of the society.
